I am starting a legacy library for William Somerset Maugham. The only source I have found so far is "Books Given by W. Somerset Maugham", a list made by the King's School, Canterbury. It is undated but was probably made in 1966. Copies can be consulted in various libraries. Peter Henderson, archivist of the School, sent me a somewhat augmented version of the list which is useful for some additional details. He also wrote:
"Maugham definitely owned many more books. Some (the most valuable) were sold at auction after his death. Others were apparently given away to local hospitals."
If you know anything about these books or have access to any additional sources about Maugham's library, please share your information here. If you have any suggestions how to improve Maugham's legacy library, please write here again. If you wish to contribute to the project personally and on a long-term basis, please send me a personal message and we'll discuss the matter.

Great stuff! I've "Legacyfied" the account, and will set up its Legacy profile the next time I do a batch. And I've promised @Walstein some more info on other Maugham holdings (there are apparently some books at the HRC, among other places).

There is still a great deal of polishing to be done and some reviews to be added, but the legacy library is, for now, until further information turns up, basically complete. Any suggestions how it might be improved are welcome.

Beautiful job, not only the profile description and the cataloging itself, but also the reviews. I enjoy very much these excerpts from an authors writings, scrolling through the Reviews module, for books I've entered into my own collection. Appreciate the pains you've taken, Waldstein.

Finally, the additional info I promised:
From Rich Oram and Joseph Nicholson's Collecting, Curating, and Researching Writers' Libraries, some more info:
The Harry Ransom Center at UT Austin has 103 items: see http://catalog.lib.utexas.edu/search~S18?/x%22Maugham%2C+Somerset%22/xmaugham+so... for a list (I think that link will work; if not, search for "Maugham, W. Somerset (William Somerset), 1874-1965, former owner."
They also report that Boston University also has Maugham books in the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, but don't give a number. And they add "Other holdings are thought to be in the hands of an Australian private collector."

Thanks, Jeremy. I've already entered most of the books at the HRC, but the online list does seem to contain several works I've missed.
The "Australian private collector" is probably Neil Jenman. I'll see if he could be contacted somehow.
