Want reco: sweet PNR heroes

My pet peeve with PNRs is that we get too much of the infamous 'chemistry' that determines a mating bond. There doesn't seem to be much volition or development of affection happening between the characters. The ONLY exception I have read is Felicity Heaton's novella, 'Vampire for Christmas'. I loved Rafe, who's a vampire and Shannon's partner in vampire hunting (yeah I know, weird but it's explained in the book), and in love with her for the last two years. The slow burn is just beautiful, and Rafe is the perfect gentleman, the tenderness between them is born of long familiarity and mutual admiration of skills, not just a convenient 'chemistry'.

Would anybody have any other reco like that? I've been searching for a long time! Please let me know! Thanks so much for reading!
