my school-year job is scanning images for art/art history classes at my college, and LOTS of interesting things come my way.

recently i've learned about:
-george ohr, the mad potter of biloxi
-the gorgeous books "500 teapots" and "500 bowls" &c
-judith schraechter, a wonderful stained glass artist, via a book on "new craft"

i've been trying to get the 500 ____ series on bookmooch, because i'm still not really okay with spending meagre funds on books that are pure eye candy, but without much luck. highly recommended though!

any other revelatory books you've flipped through recently?

I received Gustave Baumann: Nearer to Art by Martin F. Krause for my birthday, and it has been a revelation to me. The book itself is a work of art, let alone the color plates.
