October is now upon us, a great time of year for lots of new releases and a perfect time to cosy up in front of the fire with a large hot chocolate and a cracking book.

So, what is everyone reading in October 2010?

War for the Oaks by Emma Bull. Will probably be starting something more horror-oriented for Halloween soon, too, but I'm not sure exactly what.

I'm off work at the moment on bed rest, expecting our first baby in December and have messed up my pelvis. So plenty of time to read.

I'm working my way through a number of series at the moment.

Katie MacAlister's Ashling Grey series You Slay Me, Fire Me Up and Light My Fire. A little bit too chick lit for me and frustrating. Not a keeper for me.

T.A. Pratt's Marla Mason series Blood Engines so far is excellent, I have the next three on my tbr shelf.

Melissa Marr's Urban Fae series Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange and Fragile Eternity which were rather good.

Plan to finish Holy Smokes and then plan on listing the series on eBay. And then finish the Marla Mason books that I have.

Finished Holy Smokes by Katie MacAlister not too sure what to make of this series really, chick lit, Aisling is a little whingy and doesn't seem to help her self. Jim and Rene are the best charachters followed closely by Nora. These are now on eBay, just not got the space on my shelf these days.

Also finished Alpha by Rachel Vincent which was an excellent conclusion to the series. Sad, exciting, complex and a kick ass chick. What more could you ask for?

I would like to finish the Sentinel Wars series by Shannon K. Butcher and then tackle the stack of Nora Roberts books that my aunt gave me
