- M. Kei is a internationally acclaimed tanka poet and tall ship sailor. He serves his apprenticeship on a skipjack in the Chesapeake Bay, and currently crews with a blue water tall ship, the Kalmar Nyckel. He is the editor of Atlas Poetica : A Journal of Poetry of Place in Contemporary Tanka, editor-in-chief of Take Five : Best Contemporary Tanka, and the author of two books of poetry about the sea, and three novels.
