I am the author of THIS GIRL IS DIFFERENT, THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, and the forthcoming BELIEVAREXIC (Peachtree Publishers).

Not to brag, but my books have earned starred reviews and won numerous honors, and have been translated into six languages. :)

I grew up in a small town in upstate New York, and graduated from Binghamton University in 1996. In 2001, I earned a Master of Education from Harvard, with a concentration in Adolescent Risk and Prevention. I have counseled at-risk teens, taught preschool, and coordinated internship programs such as The Learning Web, Justice Summer, and Youth Advocacy.

I live in Durham, NC. I love echidnas, Star Wars, and dance parties.
