I mark high.

***** - Fantastic. Kept me thinking/musing about it over a long period time / captured my heart / impacted my life. Re-read a number of times.
****1/2 - Great to Really Good. A joy to read / gave me many ideas / I found myself immersed / caused me to make copious notes.
**** - Good. I definitely got something out of reading it. This is my standard mark for a book I enjoyed. By far, the commonest rating I use.
***1/2 - OK. Interesting / Useful. Nothing really stood out.
*** - I finished it, but I wouldn't have worried if I hadn't read it.
I seldom use the lower marks. If a book has a lower mark I did finish it, but it obviously made a negative impression.
No rating - I haven't read it as yet.
