MARY PAT HYLAND is the author of several Irish-American themed novels with strong heroines: The Maeve Kenny Series including The Cyber Miracles (2008), and its sequels A Sudden Gift of Fate (2009) and A Wisdom of Owls (2011); 3/17 (2010); and The Terminal Diner (2011). Her short story "Kate and the Irishman" appeared in the holiday short story anthology Seasons Readings (2011) and her tribute to humanitarian industrialist George F. Johnson was included in Lost Love Letters (2014).

Hyland's most popular work is the four-generation family saga The House With the Wraparound Porch (2013). In 2014 she released her first collection of short stories, In the Shadows of the Onion Domes. The stories are inspired by the immigrants who settled in the Southern Tier of NY. Her newest works, the Caviston Sisters Mystery Series, include The Curse of the Strawberry Moon (2016), The Water Mystic of Woodland Springs (2021), and When Stardust Fell on Keuka Lake (2022).
