This is it! I have to have this one. Well, yes, I already have several Viennese cookbooks, but this one not only has recipes for the things I want to cook, but it's generally just assumed you know how, but also explanations about what could (or shouldn't) be changed on the basic recipe.

I also like the fact that Viennese terminology is used, with a glossary in the back for Germans and those who only learned German German. This is a declaration of love to the typical, traditional Vienna and it's food, (with all the influences of the old multicultural monarchy) with occasional detours into the flavours that are now influencing the Viennese scene.

I admit it, I'm a sucker for a good cookbook, but usually manage to NOT buy the ones I borrow from the library. This one I will purchase. Next time I'm downtown.
