I love this book. I love this particular performance of Jane Eyre. Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens have chemistry. He is moody and brooding. She is deep and complicated. Together they weave magic. I know there are many other performances of it, but this one really works for me. Ruth Wilson is beautiful but her portrayal of Jane is such that she becomes plain, while her personality is beautiful. Toby Stephens is a good looking man, but he too comes off as tormented, only with her does he transcend.

Amazing performances from everyone, especially Anna Maxwell Martin and Gillian Anderson.

Having read the Dickens' classic several months ago, I wanted to follow up with a BBC production of Bleak House. There are more than one, but this one is the latest, and it was available at my library. It is superbly done! Following BBC tradition, it is true to Dickens' story; and the acting is sublime! The presentation was originally a TV mini-series; it has been adapted to DVD for home viewing. It's roughly 7.5 hours long, and I enjoyed every minute.

Highly recommended!
