Sharon Webb (1936–2010)

Warped humor. A set of characters first introduced to me in my IASfM subscription. Looked forward to each chapter as each one seemed to get Nurse Terra into one increasingly hilarious (often bizarre) scrape after another. Echoes of her turn of phrase in the opening little letter blurb still crack me up in a way some of the "Hello Mother Hello Father ... From Camp ... " song skits did. I was thrilled to see Terra get her own book and glad, despite description, it kept the humor and letters-from-the-outcast-stuck-in-weird-camp writing home bits.

Original even if should very much appeal to fans of Nurse Gillian character's wisecracks in the first few Stanger In A Strange Land. … (altro)
