Cute story. Langston and Scarlett meet by chance, knowing they’d only have one night together. So they take the chance to be with each other. They don’t give each other their real names and have no way of contacting each other once Langston leaves town. But Langston comes back unexpectedly. And the two meet again. Again by chance. It’s a surprise for both of them.

The surprise reunion worked. It was funny and sweet. I didn’t expect it. Well, I knew it was going to happen, but I just thought they’d see each other at a hospital (both being medical professionals). I didn’t expect he’d meet her again at her business end as she’s squeezing out twins he just happened to be the father of! It was really touching to see him crying at the births of his children. It was also pretty funny when he didn’t realize she was having twins and she started pushing again.

I enjoyed this story. I liked that even though Langston was super rich, he didn’t ever want to take the easy way. He wasn’t afraid to work for anything. I liked that Scarlett wasn’t naive and stupid, despite her age. She had gone through a lot growing up and could handle herself with maturity. She deserved the happiness she gets.

Pretty good story. I liked the couple. They were fun, but had their own personal problems. It was nice to see them grow to love each other. This author seems to have a thing with "mysterious pulls" with the main couple and you just have to go with it.

Hands down, I have to say that the FUNNIEST part was when they were having sex and the kitten latched on to his crotch! I was almost in tears!

This was tough to rate. Because for much of the book, I didn’t like any of the characters. I didn’t like how the relationship started between Emily and Ethan. Emily was still with her boyfriend, a man she thought was days away from proposing marriage, when she started “flirting” with Ethan. That flirting evolved into a 2 week long texting relationship that even her friend who hated her current boyfriend was warning her to stop.

When she finally gets out of her current relationship, she’s with Ethan like 2 minutes later. 2 minutes may be a bit of an exaggeration. But not by much. And the morning after, Ethan is already booking them couples massages and preparing to go public with the relationship. They fight. Then get back together. Then fight. Then get back together. They had a very volatile relationship. Then out of the blue, she’s arrested. And there’s this long search for who set her up. There was a lot going on that neither Emily nor Ethan handled well and they kept breaking it. It was too much.

By the end, I probably would end up bumping this rating up to a 2.5 star book, because it did get better once they stopped breaking up all the time.

This story was shorter than I expected. It only went up to like 25% in the Kindle book. I was nervous about reading it because this author's books tend to be hit or miss with me. But I really liked this one.

On the run from her life, Maddie ends up running into Xander and his children. They all just happened to be in the right place at the right time to find each other. Maddie and Xander quickly end up bonding and ends up in what seems to me like a whirlwind romance. But both their pasts show up again and they have to figure a way through it.

Overall, this book was very short and very predictable, but also very sweet. There were some very dark and disturbing issues involved, but overcoming all of that made the love that much sweeter. If this were the type of book I'd always get from this author, she'd always be on my must read list. Solid story with great characters you could root for.
