It fulfilled my expectations and I was not disappointed. I did enjoy the book because I learned about San Francisco. It was similar in format to other books by the author. The plot did pull me in some. he book did end the way I expected. It did fit in the history genre. The scope is small in that it is one city in a large state.
The author appeared in the book as a narrator because it was a history book. The presence of the author was fitting.

I'll be honest,I did not know much about Amsterdam until I read this and it seems like a place I would like to visit.

It was boring.
