"Volume 2: Let My People Go" Includes two 25-minute episodes:
1) Who Chose The Books Of the Bible? covers the choosing of the books and the amazing story of the Patriarchs.
2) What is Salvation? covers Exodus, plus key concepts like salvation, redemption and a tiny word that causes BIG trouble - sin!

"Volume 3: Wanderin' in the Desert" Includes two 25-minute episodes:
1) Don't TRIM YOUR BEARD? Explains the rules of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy and why we follow some today, but not others.
2) What is a Pentateuch? Wraps up the first five books of the Bible and sums it all up with a song!

"Volume 4: Battle for the Promised Land" Includes two 25-minute episodes:
1) Finally, the Promised Land! covers Joshua and tricky questions about fighting and killing in the Bible.
2) Cycle of Misery covers the time of the Judges and the Bible's romance story - Ruth!

"Volume 5: Israel Gets a King" contains two 25-minute episodes:
1) The People Want a King! covering 1 Samuel and the life of Saul as Israel's first king.
2) Kings Make Mistakes Too! covering 2 Samuel and the first chapter of 1 Kings, including the reigns of King David and his son, King Solomon.

"Volume 6: A Nation Divided" includes two 25-minute episodes:
1) The Big Split: Israel is split in two, and the prophet Elijah faces off with the 450 prophets of Baal to prove that Israel's God is the true God.
2) The End of Israel: A bunch of unfaithful kinds lead to the end of Israel and Judah, but Isaiah has an amazing message in Israel's darkest hour!

"Volume 7: Exile and Return!" takes your family through the books of Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther. It tells the story of the Israelites' return to Israel after years of exile in Assyria and Babylon and ends with the exciting story of Queen Esther saving the Israelites.

"Volume 8: Words to Make Us Wise" will take your family through the books of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. You'll hear the story of Job and his faithfulness and learn all about the wisdom David and Solomon share in the Psalms and Proverbs. A quick trip through Ecclesiastes will teach you to trust God in the midst of everyday trials, and then Sunday School Lady will explain the "mushy" book - Song of Solomon - and how it demonstrates God's love for us.

Buck Denver and friends journey through 17 major and minor prophets. From Jonah and the whale to Daniel in the lion's den to the hope-filled prophecies of Isaiah.

"Volume 10: Jesus is the Good News!" takes your family through the 400 years between the Old and New Testaments, and then shares about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ from the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Funny and meaningful, Vischer also shares the Gospel and encourages children (and parents) who don't know Jesus to do so and reach out to a friend or Pastor to experience Gods saving grace.

"Volume 11: Spreading the Good News!" will send your family on a journey through the book of Acts starting with Pentecost, following Jesus' disciples as they spread the Good News through the world, and watching the conversion and ministry of Saul.

"Volume 12: Letters from Paul!" will take your family on a whirlwind journey through all of the Apostle Paul's letters to churches around the Roman World, and then Buck Denver and friends will dive into some of the BIG topics Paul teaches, like justification, sanctification, the fruit of the spirit and what it means to walk with Jesus every day!

I have never seen a VeggieTales video, but I’ve heard of them. And even though I wasn’t really interested in reading about how this business was created and became a success in the world of children’s videos, what did intrigue me was how author and VeggieTales founder Phil Vischer described his experience building a business – told his story of how God used his failures and the death of a dream to point him to true success.

Despite the not-very-interesting-to-me business descriptions of profit and loss, what kept me turning the pages was the personable writing style and the story of Phil’s heartfelt pursuit of his dream to change the world for Christ. We have the hindsight to see his mistakes and poor decisions as he grew VeggieTales, and it isn’t until the conclusion that we learn this book originated as a commencement address – and he only wrote it at the urging of many people who heard his story and thought he should share it with as many people as possible.

Whether or not you have any familiarity with VeggieTales or other children’s faith-based video series, this is a fascinating memoir of a man with a dream who learned through his inspiring success and breathtaking failure to really listen to God’s voice. As the book jacket says, “Phil shares an amazing story that shows how God can use our failures and the death of a dream to point us toward true success.”
