Overall, I enjoyed this book and its unique approach to time travel. When I originally requested the book I didn't realize it was the second book in a series. However, I was able to understand what was going on without difficulty. Other reviews have discussed the general plot, so I will not go into that. There were some aspects about it I did not enjoy as much, such as the large amount of bloody fighting. That said, it was covering a bloody period of time, so this was likely more accurate. There was also mild cussing, which is not my favorite. Ultimately, I enjoyed the read but probably won't seek out other books in the series.… (altro)

This book really caught me very early on and kept me. Very interesting concept. The characters feel so real throughout the story. Very happy with it. I intend to get the first book and wait with anticipation for other titles from this author.

“The Celtic Deception” is a solid sequel to “The Last Saxon King.” It has a good plot that keeps you on your toes; as the reader, you feel as if you are on the adventure with Dan and Sam as they are thrusted into Wales among a conflict between the Celts and Romans. I enjoyed the pace of this adventure and the characters that we were introduced to.

An extremely well done time travel novel. This is the second book in a series, but there is enough background information to make it unnecessary to have read the first book. The novel is a YA book, but it is in no way juvenile; anyone, regardless of age, can enjoy it, and I, for one, did! The author obviously did his historical research, and it shows. The book (and series) concerns two teens whose fathers were members of a group of time travelers whose job was to go back in time and fix various "glitches" in the time stream; in this case, celtic Britian in the time of the Roman occupation and the Druids. There is the added complication of a rogue time traveler who is up to no good. Okay! No more spoilers! I highly recommend this book. I'll be eagerly awaiting future volumes!… (altro)
