Sam Usher

On a morning described as “gray”, “cold” and “miserable” a perfect do-nothing day as told by the boy, until his grandfather convinces him to run a few errands. After visiting the glasses shop, library and the hardware store they head home to build a sled. As they head back out to test the sled they see a lost dog sign on a lamppost and immediately begin to search for her until they get caught in a blizzard. When the sky finally clears they realize how far away from home they are but luckily are found by Loopy and her new wolf friends who lead them safely home. The love between the boy and his grandfather is conveyed through the gentle story and effortless ink and watercolor illustrations.
