Before I reached the middle of the book I would have given it 5 stars. The first half was very thought provoking and scary. The second half was quite repetitive. The closer I got to the end the more I wanted it to be over. Have said that I do not regret reading it. I bookmarked a large portion of the first half and plan to go through these bookmarks to remind myself of the evils that await us if we give in to the worldly self-indulgences.

An essayist points out, "Since the victims in 98 percent of the alleged Catholic abuse cases were teenage boys, allowing priests to marry (women) seems a pointless solution. There is just no correlation between the offense and the corrective. You may as well offer the alcoholic priest the deed to a dairy and call him cured."

Mel Gibson's stunning film The Passion of the Christ has touched thousand of hearts since its release. Yet, despite its visual and emotional impact, the dramatic events portrayed do not explain themselves; they often give rise to perplexing questions. This short book helps you delve a little deeper into some of the movie's profound riches--the passion of Christ.

An unparalleled invitation to live in oneness with Jesus. If I would discern how I'm treating Jesus, I must ask how I typically treat His body.

A very good job of recasting Dante's imagery in 20th/21st century terms and a really gripping story. I will very likely reread it, but I was left slightly disappointed at the ending. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger (how did the protagonist get from Georgia to India? Well, all right, Dante has the exit to Hell directly opposite to the entrance... but what is he going to do there? What happened to the woman whose escape immediately preceded his?) and it seems as if a sequel is intended - and necessary - but after more than twenty years, it's not likely to materialize.½

My favorite way to tell the story of creation, lends itself to lots of visuals, great illustrations of torn colored paper.
