Another enjoyable novella from Darkfuse. As a club member I pretty much read them the day they are released and while the styles and themes range widely, these novellas are consistently entertaining and high quality.
The Black Church is the second book that I have read by Mr. Tate. His stories are pretty straightforward and The Black Church is no exception, which is a traditional “cursed object” story with added historical elements that give it an extra point in my book. I don’t usually put in plot descriptions and I detest anything that even hints at a plot twist or event in the story. Lets just say that the curse in this case spans centuries and is fully explained and set out, which makes this a quick, satisfying read by a solid new horror writer.

This was an intense, action packed, full of suspense thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. The end of this book has me really excited to start the last book in this trilogy. Fans of James Rollins, Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, and Jeremy Robinson will have a blast reading Toby Tate' s books too.
Absolutely wicked!! This title was like a mix of Indiana Jones meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Hellraiser. It was also great to read about the adventure, that the 2 characters from Toby Tate's title Lilith, had before that and The Lilitu Trilogy. I feel I have come full circle now...However, now I'm wondering what more might be to come?
