The story opens with a rather awkward visit, followed by a long flashback. Well-written with charming people and realistic conversations. Enjoyable.

A family go for the fifth summer to a villa in Italy. Each of them has secret worries or concerns, and on holiday they meet and interact with new people as well as with each other. The main characters were believable, although some of the minor ones were rather caricatured. Enjoyable.

Kate, separated from her husband, is attracted by two other men. Some dramatic moments and an excellent portrayal of Kate's son, albeit a little melodramatic in places. A good read, even if a little too tidy at the end.

Rachel sets out to investigate the history of her house, leading to a slightly different modern novel from average, since there are ghosts involved! Mainly character-based, with some delightful people including Rachel's granddaughter, the sensitive and serious Emily. Recommended.
