Cute story about a little bee who ventures from the hive for the first time. She must overcome her fear and find a flower. She gets help from some other creatures along the way but, also runs into a little trouble. Great growth mindset story. Also a nice introduction to the life of bees. However, a queen bee would not have left the hive and Little Bee would not be a "She" but a Worker Bee.

I read this to my grandson and it was a perfect read for him. Nicely illustrated too.

This was a sweet book. To me it felt more like a “parent” book than a book for a teacher (which is what I am!) but I enjoyed it anyway:)

I "tested" this book with my kindergarten students and they enjoyed the simplicity of the story and "finding" out what happened. Here are some of their comments: liked that little bee finally found the flower; liked all the colors in the illustrations; didn't like how the little boy was stung; and they enjoyed that Little Bee asked questions. This is an enjoyable little book which engages students and encourages them to ask questions too.
