Tracey Smith

Cedar Hollow is the first Romantic Suspense book by Tracey Smith, author of the Love Trilogy. Tracey already had the romance writing down, and she has nailed the suspense aspect with her initial endeavor in this genre.

The author's writing style is easy to follow. The story-line is fast-paced, as a good suspense novel should be. I didn't want to put it down – but I had to. Couldn't pull an all-nighter, because I had to work the next day.

Part of the suspense and intrigue is due to the periodic narratives by “The Chosen One”, a mysterious avenger whose time of reckoning has come, to right the wrongs, and let no one stand in the way. The first such narrative is at the end of Chapter One, so right away the reader is drawn in to the mystery. As I was reading, I correctly suspected a certain character as being “The Chosen One,” but this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book at all.

There are also gothic elements that increase the suspense in the book. Cassidy feels a sensation of coldness whenever she walks near the foot of the 3rd floor staircase. The unused rooms on the 1st floor are kept ominously dark. Even though Cassidy closes her curtains at night, they're open in the morning.

The main characters, Cassidy and Ben, are well written, and are my favorites. At the beginning of the book, Cassidy comes across as a rather cold-hearted workaholic businesswoman, in charge of acquisitions for a resort chain, which means talking people into selling their property to the resort. Ben, who has a chip on his shoulder for an unknown reason, resents her for the job she does. As the story progresses, the reader learns of Cassidy's history, and why Ben felt that way towards her. Learning “the rest of the story” makes both characters more likeable.

Also as the story progress, several accidents occur, with Cassidy barely escaping serious injury. During the time when the accidents were occurring, the relationship between Ben and Cassidy evolves – from Ben being barely civil to Cassidy, to Ben being intimate with Cassidy (with three explicit scenes). This romantic suspense is heavy on the romance! The mystery is finally solved, with an exciting climax to the story.

I enjoyed this book very much, and rated it four out of five stars. It is a pleasing blend of suspense and romance. If you like Harlequin® romances, and the gothic novels of Barbara Michaels, you'll love Cedar Hollow by Tracey Smith!

I was given a copy of Love Trilogy for an honest review and I must say this is so beautiful, so romantic and it gives you such a warm feeling. I just couldn't put this down at all, so locked into the story and I was turning the pages so fast because I needed to know if Katherine and Michael were ever going to meet one another. I really felt for Katherine, sounds such an amazing person and Michael - OMG he was gorgeous, I was so in love with this man. This was so emotional at times, such a sad beginning and such an unexpected ending, I was holding my breath as I never thought it would turn out just the way it did.

I can't wait to read the rest in this series and would certainly recommend for all romantics

Tracey, you certainly know how to make a gal cry. I needed a box of tissues with this one, but I certainly wouldn't of missed this for the world. Loved it so much.

I received a copy of Love Trilogy for an honest review and I must say once again such a stunning story Tracey, I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of this.
Love-Destiny is the phenomenal sequel to Loves-Fate and I can't wait to get stuck into the next read Loves-Chance, so thanks once again Tracey for giving us such heart warming reads.

'Tyler always ruined everything'

Felt so sorry for Tyler, my heart went our to this young lad entirely. Being uprooted from his surroundings and his friends. He just withdrew into himself completely. But this was so nice following everyone life's, such a glorious lifelong love story and I would recommend this for any romantics.

'My entire life could change in a heartbeat'

This one I found hard to read in places because just how poignant it was I was crying, but again I was locked into another world entirely and found it quite impossible to crawl out of. It was absolutely wonderful following the life's of Katherine and Michael and their family.

Tracey's such a clever author. You are not just reading, this is happening to you. You feel every emotion, every second. You are living and breathing this.

Tracey gave me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and WOW wasn't I so impressed, this book is truly awesome. Such a roller-coaster which again left me breathless and my pulse was racing completely.

It's so frustrating when you fancy someone like mad that you see them everywhere you go - but you know deep down that person is going to end up destroying you completely.
Build yourself a wall for protection and you will never have your heart broken again.

Just when you think everything has worked out, life suddenly turns around. But will there ever be a happy ending?

I absolutely loved the whole trilogy Tracey, so a BIG thanks for giving me this opportunity to read the whole series and I certainly would recommend these to all romantics.

Done it to me again Tracey, made me cry. This was filled with heartbreak,sadness, relief and eventually happiness.
Well, I must say that was a exhilarating time that I spent with the Carter family.
