Godfrey P. Smith

This is a biography of the founding statesman of Belize. It is a valuable and revealing work, though it could have said more about Price's inner life. It would have benefited from a deeper examination of his spiritual and cultural interests of which we learn next to nothing. We do, however, learn a great deal about the political transformation of Belize from the 1930s through the 1980s.
