This little boy is moving into a new house with his family. To make it more exciting, he and his brother pretend they are on a mission to Mars, and they have very important things to accomplish. This was a really cute book and a good way to encourage imagination.

This adorable book can definitely help children cope with moving or other big life changes. This brave spacebar decides to mask his fears by playing pretend in this new adventure of his life. This imagination helps him better deal with moving to a new home and needing to make new friends. This will be a book on my future classroom shelves. The poetic style of writing makes the book even more enjoyable!

I know from a lot of personal experience how hard moving can be as a kid. I have moved at least a dozen times throughout my life and not once did I take it as well as the two kids in A Brave Spaceboy. An unnamed little boy and his sister make the most of their new home with a space adventure to mars. At the end of their imagined space journey they return home having made a new friend.

Change can be scary--especially for children. So when the little boy moves with his family, he uses his imagination to make the change fun. He creates a spaceship out of a moving box and takes off for Mars. When he lands, he sees a little girl he doesn't know. Considering himself an astronaut he explores this new territory and realizes moving isn't so bad after all.
