With respect to Muhammad, the alleged prophet of Islam, non-Muslims should be concerned with many issues, including the following:

1) Muhammad initially though his revelations were demonic in origin. (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Number 111; Ibn Ishaq, p. 106.)

2) Muhammad became suicidal after his first revelation. (See Ibn Ishaq, p.106; Al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Number 111.)

3) Muhammad retracted some of his verses, saying they were from Satan. (See Ibn Ishaq, pp. 165-167; Al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Number 385.)

4) The alleged prophet was supposedly affected at one point by a magic spell cast by a Jewish magician. (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Number 660; Ibn Ishaq, p. 240.)

5) Even though Allah supposedly says that Muslims may have up to four wives in Surah 4:3, Muhammad had at least nine wives at the same time. (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Number 268; Volume 7, Number 142.)

6) One of Muhammad's wives was a nine-year-old girl named Aisha (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Number 234; Volume 7, Number 88; Al-Muslim, Number 3309.)

7) Early Muslim sources report that Muhammad ordered executions, assassinations, and torture, events which were often carried out in brutal fashion (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Number 234; Volume 5, Number 369; Volume 9, Number 57; Ibn Ishaq, p. 550; pp. 675-6.)

8) Muhammad allowed his followers to have sex with their female captives, even if the husbands and fathers of these women had just been killed by Muslims. In other words, he advocated rape. (See Qur'an 4:24; 23:5-6; Al-Bukhari, Volume 3, Number 432; Al-Muslim, Number 3371.)

9) During his expeditions in Arabia, Muhammad enslaved numerous women and children. (See Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Number 512; Volume 7, Number 137; Ibn Ishaq, p. 466.)

10) Muhammad claimed that meteors were missiles hurled by God at demons. (See Qur'an 67:5.)

11) Muhammad claimed that Jesus was not actually crucified. (See Qur'an 4:157.)

12) According to Muhammad, women lack common sense. (See Sahih Muslim, Abdul Hamid Siddiqi, tr., Number 142; Sahih Al-Bukhari, Dr. Muhammad Matraji, tr. (New Delhi: Islamic Book Service, 2002), Number 2658.)

These are a few of the things that might well give a person pause when considering the claims of Muhammad.
