I'm a sucker for a great enemies to lovers trope and this book has that in exceptional form! Another aspect of the story line that I loved was the connection between detective and attorney. I think this always makes for such a great setup. Because it usually means both characters are going to have strong personalities and beliefs. This is the first book by this author, but after meeting some of the characters that are from a previous security series by her, I will be checking out that entire series next. Because I absolutely love the way the romantic suspense was written in this book. This author has absolutely found a new fan in me!

There was such a strong connection between Janie and Sean right from the start that I was hooked on the relationship between them. And the progression of their relationship was so natural and real, it made for a truly great read. It also made the characters so memorable. Individually, I loved both of the characters. They didn't need to be together for me to be a fan of them. So it made their journey and interactions together that much more enjoyable. This is also another series that has me caring about the side characters and wondering if they are going to get their own stories where they get to be at the center. I'm sure hoping that's the case, as I'm eager to learn even more about them.

I felt that the action was very well done. It was nice that it wasn't over the top or unbelievable. I think that made for a more realistic feel to the book and the overall situation that the characters were facing. I also felt that the ending was extremely unpredictable and I certainly didn't see it coming. There were some aspects that were a bit predictable, but that's kind of the idea behind using tropes such as lawyers and cops getting together. And that's one of my favorite tropes, so I've read a lot with that trope. I strongly recommend this book and I can't wait to read more by this author!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Review:
The Six Night Truce: An Enemies to Lovers" by Hannah Shield

My Sentiments:

'The Six Night Truce: An Enemies to Lovers Romance' was a good read showing how the two characters were definitely on opposite sides when it came to Sean Holt being a detective and Jane Simon being a defense attorney indeed made life miserable for them as they had to work together. However, when they chose to work together on this particular case because their lives were in danger, someone was trying to kill them. However, the more they spent time together, getting to know each other, their attitude changed, even to the point of.... well, I will stop here and say you must pick up this good read to see what happens. By the end, Sean and Jane will do a little work together.

Be ready for lots of unpredictable twists and turns, drama, dark secrets, laughter, suspense, action, emotional roller-coaster, and romance, where the reader will have to keep up because this author really keeps this storyline moving with some fascinating characters; where it will be hard to put down until the end. And I want to include the Bonus Epilogue, which also presented a good ending.

I absolutely devour every new book in Hannah Shield’s steamy romantic suspense series. Danica is the daughter of a billionaire and a philanthropist, which has made her and the rest of her family into the target of kidnappers. The book opens with a high-octane scene where we get a taste of what Danica’s protection detail will be up against. I really liked Danica from those very first scenes. She might be wealthy, but she’s also down to earth and likes to take charge. Noah is a former SEAL and has history with Danica and the rest of her family. I liked the way the backstories of both characters were woven together and as we learned more about their family histories, how this complicated things. Things quickly heated up for the two leads, in between multiple kidnapping attempts, and as things are revealed, let’s just say there are some dark secrets… loved this one! 5/5 stars.… (altro)

I am absolutely loving the BENNETT SECURITY romantic suspense series and Tanner and Faith’s friends to lovers romance was a favorite! Faith hasn’t had the easiest life. She grew up in a controlling family and got married too young to a loser guy (Jon) who dealt drugs and put her in danger. Faith escaped their bad marriage in Texas and has started over in California, where she and Tanner, a former SEAL have a cute “wingman” friendship. I LOVED the cute early scenes in the book where they were denying there was anything more there than friendship. Some of those early comedic dates had me in stitches. But things quickly heat up both between Tanner and Faith, and also for Faith’s troubles with her past, because creepy Jon just won’t leave her alone. I loved the suspense plotline in this one, with several awful people from Faith’s past stalking her and Tanner and several characters I loved from previous books in the series teaming up to help. This was a fast paced, STEAMY romance, that kept me breathlessly turning pages all the way to the nailbiter of an ending. Faith and Tanner wound up being one of my favorite couples, and I especially loved some of the great messages about PTSD in Tanner’s story line as well. I can’t wait for book five!

I received a complimentary copy of Hold Tight from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.
