Scenes and Adventures in Central America di Charles Sealsfield
Real adventure writing from the early to mid 1800s! Stories of early Louisiana, Texas, Mexico, and South America, some of which will have you believing it's non-fiction. A most interesting read not only for the stories, but also for the grammar and style of the time. I don't think I've ever read a book which relied so upon semi-colons in all my life!
