Sara Sandberg

The Sandbergs were furriers in Harlem around WWI. Sara had mild polio and her sister Goldie was the beauty. Their mother was the saleswoman with a great flair for the pitch. Summers in the Catskills and touring around Harlem with the whole neighborhood packed into their Cadillac. Great local color, but syrupy. Jewish, of course. Published in 1964.
