“The good guy on my porch” by Katharine Sadler is a light-reading, small town romance. It tells how relationships work, be it with a best friend, boyfriend or mother and how to move on from the guilt and fears in your life.
Dilly Thompkins’s whole world is a lie, has been for over 10 years. Her mother has huge anxiety issues. She gets bad feelings about literally everything and goes to any and every length to keep Dilly safe from those things. Dilly doesn’t tell anyone what she’s going through as according to her, no one wants a friend that has baggage to deal with and is not carefree and happy all the time.
Dilly’s character was relatable in a way. Being insecure and not telling anyone about your problems because maybe they won’t like you anymore. Katharine Sadler captured this feel remarkably well. There were two point of views but dilly’s pov outshined Oscar’s every time. I liked that everyone was there for each other in catalpa creek. It made the atmosphere more alive. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.… (altro)
