Bob Ryan is a retired American sportswriter, widely acclaimed for his coverage of professional basketball for The Boston Globe. He is a member of the College Basketball Writers and New England Basketball halls of fame, and was the recipient of The Dick Schaap Award for Outstanding Journalism in mostra altro 2006 and the Curt Gowdy Award from the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. Ryan was born on February 21, 1946, in Trenton, New Jersey. He attended high school at the Lawrenceville School from 1960 to 1964, and graduated from Boston College in 1968, with a degree in history. He began writing for The Boston Globe shortly thereafter. Ryan's Memoir, Scribe: My Life in Sports was published in 2014. Among his other published works are: The Best of Sport: Classic Writing from the Golden Era of Sports, When Boston Won the World Series, The Road to the Super Bowl, The Four Seasons, and Boston Celtics: The History, Legends, and images of America's most celebrated team.
