This is not really about Rosa Parks going fishing -- I didn't realize it's part of a series called "Leaders Doing Headstands" where each book has a title that follows the formula "When Famous Person Did a
Thing." So I was disappointed that it's just a standard picture book biography for elementary school readers. The illustrations are appealing and the book focuses on the early life of Ms. Parks (but not, alas, an interesting fishing trip she took).

This is another book about which I learned through SCAN's Readers Make Leaders campaign. It's a lot of fun!

Penny gets to go to work at the White House with her mom, and is anxious to meet POTUS, about whom she has all sorts of ideas. She is at first disappointed, but ultimately pleased by the reality. Read it for yourself—I think you'll be pleased by Penny's POTUS, too!
