Lovely biography of the esteemed children's book author. Well-sourced, has timeline, bibliography, glossary. Very nice look at her life. Black and white photos throughout. I like how each chapter ends with a little trivial fact or invitation to read further (such as to go to a particular website to get the answer to a joke Virginia liked to tell). Two-page callouts explain cultural events or literary awards and terms used.
