In Lan's Plant the author tells the story of a little girl Lan who is raising a cactus for a plant competition. It goes through the different ways to care for a plant, and how she takes care of it and helps it grow. It uses a repetition of some words which children enjoy. It also adds some nice new vocabulary words. This would be a great story to read during a gardening lesson.
