Dominic is a young boy who likes to do things his way, or as he says it, "to the beat of his own drum." He does this at school, in sports and at home. Things down always go the way he planned. Mom has a way to teach Dominic that there is a time and a place to follow the directions. Read this wonderful and simple book to see if Dominic learns that lesson.

This is another example for young children about learning to take responsibility for their actions. Each time Sophia is caught doing something she should not be doing the adult in her life gently corrects her. A nice way of teaching this to kids.

When I Feel Shy by Michael Gordon, Sarah Read
Children's colorful, rhyming story. I feel this is really 3 stories in one as it's about 3 incidences.
Benjy is scared of singing in front of the choir. He calls on his mom for help.
His sister Lottie worried she'd not make friends at her new school. Benjy and their mom wait after school lets out...
Teacher asks students how to talk about something they loved to do.
They overcame their problems with being worried and thought of the brave things they've done.

My Big Feelings: (Kids Books About Emotions & Feelings, Children’s Book Ages 2 4, Preschool, Kindergarten) by Sarah Read
Colorful children's rhyming story about Matthew and his feelings. He is old enough now to voice to others when his feelings have been hurt.
He is fine as he accomplishes riding his bike and not falling. Later he loses it when he wants the toy his sister is playing with. His parents step in to help with the solution.
Later he has bad nightmares and goes to his parents to tell them about his feelings.
Great story for kids to learn how to explain to others about what's going on.
Coloring pages are included at the end along with offer of free ebook.

Love how the mother handles this problem...
Love hearing of all the good things the children see as they play with others and their mother is so proud that they are actually the brave and strong ones.
Love lessons learned from the father also as the training wheels come off the bike.
Thanks note from the author and also bonus coloring pages are included at the end.

The Unicorn is Scared by Sarah Read and Michael Gordon
This colorful children's book is about a unicorn.
Books starts with offer of free ebook-the Anxious Monster.
Pictures are on the left of the book and words are on the right.
What I like about this method is that you hear of the story from one not there, a few words from the unicorn, some from the mommy with her own style of writing.
Words and styles are varied throughout, sometimes not even on straight lined rows, Makes you turn the book a bit sideways, so cool!
Although the unicorn is scared of going to see the doctor their mommy assures them of what's going to happen and it won't be so bad.
Other things scare them also and others are there to reassure them it's not all so bad.
Received this review copy from the authors and this is my honest opinion.

The Anxious Monster by Sarah Read and Michael Gordon
This colorful children's story is about a monster and he goes to school. One of the assignments is that they will each have to go in front of the class and talk about their parents jobs.
He gets very anxious and does not want to do it so mother thinks they need to go see the doctor to find out what's wrong. He doesn't want to do that either and is then invited to a party.
He is able to talk to others there although he doesn't know very many and it comes out what his concerns are.
Many others go through the same thing and talk to him about what works for them-so MANY suggestions.
Coloring pages are included at the end.
Have a difficult time enlarging the fonts to be able to read it on 2 tablets or my computer. Also not able to turn the screen to enlarge the font size.

Danny the dinosaur is like a lot of young children. They don’t want to wait for anything. They want everything now. They get upset and frustrated when they are told they have to wait. Danny is the same way. He has a birthday coming up and his parents tell him he will have to wait for a big surprise. He tells them that they know he hates waiting. Will he learn to be patient and wait for his surprise? I love the book and its message. The illustrations are wonderful. I have a grandson who loves dinosaurs and is a lot like Danny. This is a book I know he will love.

This is a fine, solid thriller with elements of mystery and horror, and a great sense of setting and atmosphere. The main character is a thirteen year old boy named Charley, who attends a boarding school in England in 1926. He becomes involved in the disappearances of boys who are said to have "run away home", but he slowly learns the terrifying truth. The book is well-paced and, at 190 pages, it doesn't overstay its welcome.½

Good scary mystery revolving around a small town and what they did to the witch and her descendants. Good characters, story moves and a good pace.
