Toby Belfer's Seder is a children's book that all need to hear! It is a retelling of the Passover within a fictional story. The two girls are school friends one of them Jewish, the other Christian. In public schools this is a very common situation where many religions, cultures, and beliefs are found among a classroom. Toby invites her friend Donna and her family to her house for Passover. One very important quality this story shares in tolerance and exceptance of others beliefs even if they aren't your own. Toby's family and Donna's family are from different religious backgrounds but they all gather to share Passover dinner together out of love. Another important factor of this book is learning about what Passover really is. Through the retelling of Passover the traditions, ceremony, prayers, and story is all explained. Children will grow up knowing people by labels and if they don't have the knowledge of what makes the different then they could become ignorant.
