It has been said that every form of government has been an experiment, and Oliver Wendell Holmes is quoted in this book as saying the same thing about the Constitution, and life in general. The purpose of an experiment is to arrive at a conclusion. And when you have arrived, the ideal government will appear by default.

This was a very educational book about prejudice. It was a very sad book and would be useful inteaching a class about prejudice.

Class Divided (A) (55 minutes)
Producer William Peters tells the story of how Jane Elliott changed her lesson plan on the morning
after Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed. It is about an Iowa schoolteacher who, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in 1968, gave her third-grade students a first-hand experience in the meaning of discrimination. This is the story of what she taught the children, and the impact that lesson had on their lives.
