Breve biografia
Dorothy Pedersen was born in Scotland. She was brought to Canada in her 13th year. She is the recipient of a national writing award, and is an Honours graduate of the Equiine Studies program at Humber College, and the college's first recipient of it's Horsemanship Certificate program. For thirty years, she has written about horse health and horse health research. After she finally recovered her own stolen horses she wrote about horse theft, and has been acknowledged on both sides of the Canada/US border as an expert on this crime. The first issue of her book, Stolen Horses, sold out within 30 days of it's release. This was followed by a 30-day sell out of her book, Canadian Police Heroes, a book that came on the heels of extensive writing for and about law enforcement - again, on both sides of the border. Her third book, Convoys of World War II was applauded by sailors and war veterans. Dorothy is working on updating these books, and is contracted to write several others which should be out soon.

What a wonderful anthology of real acts of heroism, from men and women of the police forces to my north. As a non-Canadian, I also wanted to find the little towns and cities being mentioned, as well as the possible Wikipedia pages associate with some of these cases. But those who don’t have that extra interest, the stories themselves from these police officers are more than enough. We as readers thank the author for putting this book together and thank the officers for their heroism.

Well, this is another disappointment from Library Thing; the book was pulled by the publisher, and I'm getting sick of the failure to provide materials to reviewers. Shame, Library Thing. Shame.

And shame on the publisher who I've been in contact with who did not even apologize or care that Pedersen's readers just got screwed.
