A family of five hijacked to a fantasy world with game mechanics.
I really liked the story around family nelson. The characters are all different and there are some good surprising developments throughout the book.
The bad part for me - the continues change of POV is getting on my nerves like never before. While I was curious to follow the adventures of that family i had six or even more other factions i don't care about to listen to. At some point i started to skim that stuff as it was very annoying and at the end of the story i didn't really had the feeling i missed much. Early enough to learn about all the different developments when they come into contact with the main family.… (altro)

Chapter 30, near the end of the book, spent several paragraphs on summarizing the story up to that point.

For some reason the author considered it worthwhile to end on a cliff.

Overall it feels like an online serial that was randomly broken into books with minimal editing cutting out surplus content.

The book also continued the tradition of a lot of irrelevant stories being told to build future plot-points.

I will not continue this series. I honestly think it could be a good book and series if editing cut out 30% of the book. The overall plot is somewhat interesting and the setting with its system is a decent overall plot device.… (altro)
