Interesting premise but poorly supported. This is an easy read though and Yohashi is engaging.

A large number of Americans are discovering the pleasurable and therapeutic uses of shiatsu, a Japanese method of finger presssure on the acupuncture points. A shaitsu treatment can make you feel relaxed, yet energetic; years younger, free of nervous tension, fatigue and stiffness. Or shiatsu can be used to relieve such varied problems as arthritis pain, headaches, impotence, and hemorrhoids. Best of all, while it invigorates and cures pain and tension, shiatsu gives you a new way to understand your friends-by touching them.

In this book Wataru Ohashi, one of the most knowledgeable and well-known U.S.-based shiatsu experts, tells how you can learn to perform shiatsu at home on yourself and your frends. Mr. Ohashi, who has taught and practiced shaitsu in this country for years, has written specifically for a Western audience, focusing on the common discomforts that bother us here in the West. He has provided clear explanations of all technical terms and attractive photographs throughout to illustrate the shiatsu techniques and the exact locations of the pressure points. He has also included special 'shiatsu exercises,' designed to keep your energy flowing.

Do-It-Yourself Shiatsu leaves nothing to the imagination. Its explicit non-technical instructions and illustrations make it one of the most useful and attractive books on shiatsu ever published in the U.S.
