I chose to read this book for the reading log to add some diversity and try to understand the meaning behind the book using picture clues. I have mixed reviews about the book. I really liked the illustrations. They are vivid and tell a story of their own. For example, there were a bunch of children happily playing in the leaves Although I do not speak Spanish, I could infer that the children were having a great time playing based on the illustrations alone. Illustrations that tell a story play a big part in telling the message of the book. One thing I did not like about the book was that it did not seem to have a definite plot. Although the pictures were great, each page featured very similar photos of children playing in leaves, getting coats on to play in leaves and hugging parents. I think the story would be more effective with a plot. The main message of the story from what I could gather is having fun in the Autumn Leaves.… (altro)
