I'm typically drawn to short story collections or other anthologies that center around a city or region, especially if I'm new to the region/city. I spent a week in Denver in December and was fascinated by all that I learned while I was there. I picked this up at Tattered Cover hoping to get an interesting perspective through the city's writers.

What I found was a mixed bag. There are stories that stand out beyond belief - "It's November 1880, And the Angel of Death is Having a Bad Day," "Beginnings: 1982," and "The Color of the Impression" and there are others that are not so hot. All in all, I did enjoy the book, even though every story wasn't incredible.… (altro)
