Good

I don’t know what I expected going into this book but I did enjoy it. Ky was super hot and I get the feeling that all the Baum squad members are more than what they seem.

I was so pleased with this final installment to the Claimed series.....

I didn't even know the book was due to be released, or that there was even a final book at all.

Having been burned by M. Never's previous book "Trinity"...so not getting into that....I was almost wary when I picked up this Kindle Unlimited installment, but it was the full book, no sneaky extras, and it was the story arc I didn't know I was waiting for.

This book was an angst-free, sexy, emotional, read-in-one-sitting final installment to a much loved series. It wasn't a prequel or a sequel, but a shift of focus from Ellie and Kayne to Jett and London. The timeline is the same as Claimed so there are bits of backstory and missing scenes or POV from the first Decandance after Dark book. This was a really good read that you will love if you enjoyed the first three Decadance After Dark books (I don't cound #4 Lie With Me since it doesn't focus on the two main couples), you will definitly want to read this book.

Kindle Unlimited......

M. Never, you have redeemed yoursef in my eyes and have retaken your seat on my favorite author list. Acutally, I shouldn't bitch, you are a great author regardless, I was just pissy about the packaging for Trinity...I really, really, would like to see that ARC fleshed out.....

I love this author, and was thrilled to see her take on another menage story....but.....

Do not think that this book is the nearly 350 pages that it lists. No, if you expect to settle into a meaty story that will kill the better part of your day, it ends at page 118. Yup. I never expected this author to pull a bait and switch, but she did. I had to go back to Amazon and see if there was a mention of the other book, there wasnt. What was written at the bottom of the synopsis was that it was a 30k word standalone novella. Whatever, it ranks up there with diet products that say "results not typical" in tiny font.

Having already read Moto, and not liking it nearly as much as her Decadence After Dark series (a permanent fixture on my to-reread list) imagine my dismay when what i thought was the start of a second act turned out to be that book.

I dont know why this trend in deceptive labeling became acceptable to authors and publishers. I have found that too many books end way before their page count claims and in place are either another book (case in pount) or a bunch of "previews" of other books. I understand that an author wants to tempt us into another book...I get that. I just hate that I am tricked...because that was what this is....into thinking i am getting a full book when all it is is less than novella length.

Shame on you authors who do that, and shame on those other decision makers that encorage it.

I truly dont think that M. Never wanted to do this, but what i think happened was Moto was a short book, and Trinity was even shorter, and those honest page counts kept away readers looking for something with more meat. By adding the two books, she got a decent page count. I could be wrong, and am sure there is some kind of "explanation ", but why not let us know?

When I read books that i know are going to be short, seeing something after the main story isnt a big deal. When I read a Delilah Devlin or Alexa Riley, i know there is going to be a lot of filler. I have actually been a bit ticked when i see extra books tacked on because they are always previously released. This author generally writes full length stories, so it wasnt expected.

So now instead of reviewing this book, im wasting my time calling out this and other authors who use shady practices to get readers. This ranks up there with that other practice of taking what would've a novel length book and whoring it out in increasing prices for a few chapters.

So....no opinions on the story....a big one finger salute to whomever thought this was a good idea.

If M. Never wants to make up for this by saing it was a preview of a new full length book....I will read and love that. I really liked the story and really wanted it to go on.

I updated the star rating to indicate the actual story. I enjoyed the story a lot, so there really isn't anything to complain about it. I really hope the M. extends it or writes a full-length sequel...

4.5 stars

I have been a fan of this author for a long time and have been eagerly waiting for this book since I heard a snippet of the audio for this book. I would have read it anyway at some point because I not only love this author but because the blurb had me sucked in. However, hearing that amazing accent in the audio snippet, moved this book to the top of my must-read books. I can gladly say that the book led up to its hype and that sexy voice.

From the first chapter, it was riveting. I needed to know who this person was and why she was the person that would be on these types of assignments. As the story progresses, I get the answers as to who Fallon is, and most importantly, why she became that person. It heart to hear her backstory. I was unsure about Declan and also Ronan. Eventually, I got my answers and trust me when I say I was right to be unsure about one of those characters. Watching the interactions between Fallon, Declan and Ronan had me bouncing around a bit as I tried to see how these paths intercepted. There were games being played here and I didn't know how or why. The steamy times were hot with a certain person. The other just made me uncomfortable.

The suspense was killer in this one and the twists, one of them in particular, came from left field. I wasn't prepared for that one. It made me love the fighting spirit of Fallon that much more. There were some areas that I wish would have been explained a little more such as the motivations behind why one of these men did what they did and what they had hoped they would gain from it. Regardless of those though, I was all in for the ride and for watching a love story grow from this as well as the chance of a fresh start for Fallon to experience what she had missed so much of before. I was right for having moved this up on my list. Now, I just need to find all the books that this magical voice has narrated and read/listen (even though I rarely listen to audiobooks because I read way faster than I can listen) to them because his voice is amazing. I could listen to him read the phone book it is that good.
