What a great story about working together. I read this in a story time at the library and the toddlers loved it!

Nicely written book about ballads. I was a music major in college now working as a librarian in a Christian private school. I think this will be an excellent learning tool that can be used by our music class as well as an early reader. The "ballad" is catchy and so are the graphics. I enjoyed the little book with the antics at the bottom of the page. Would recommend.

What a cute little book. It is a good idea, though, to look through the book and study the illustrations before actually reading the 'shanty.' It is easy to get distracted by the life under sea pictures and lose the cadence of the rhyme.
Or go through and read it first, then study the illustrations, noticing the names of the books, the snail, the clams... while the illustrations are simple, there is much to see under the sea.
The wisdom of the shanty to cooperate, be positive and be willing to make friends is sage advice.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a non-bias review.

I enjoyed the Ballad of Billy McFee so much! Be sure and look up the music and sing along, it’s a catchy tune and it’ll get stuck in your head. It’s a cute book about a fish trying to get a ship unstuck and getting it to go. It’s a sweet story with a positive message of helping and working together. It also teaches kids to keep on trying even when there’s negativity from others. The illustrations are great. This is now one of my favorite children’s books.
