So far only read:

-- Diving After the Moon by Rachel Swirsky - 4*

Darn that made me sad. Readers of my reviews may have come across me saying I love when a mother's love is included in a story. Welp this one had a mother/son love theme and it has kinda wrecked me.

Much of the story went over my head (politics, sf) but the gist is a mother used to read fables to her son when he was young. He is a grown man now. He is on the moon and there is a problem. a war has broken out on earth and they are left there to die. The story becomes a bit unreliable but the mother uses one of the fables as a way to rescue her son. She builds a bridge of monkeys to the moon to reach her son. When she gets there he is on his last bits of oxygen and he sees her as a hallucination. He finds it interesting that his dying thought is of his mother and her stories.

I'm not sure I appreciate the feeling it has left me with. She definitely gave me the feels but it may be too much for me personally.

So far only read one:

-- On the Banks of the River Lex by N.K. Jemisin - 2*
Narrated by Kate Baker

Not my particular interest for a story. YMMV
Post-apocolyptic, there are no humans left. Our gods like "Death", "Sleep", "Nursery Rhymes" are still around trying to make do.
Perhaps they will be of use to what comes next. As there are signs of life returning, but it's not human life. More so like what happens when we are not around anymore.
For example, during COVID, animals were seen populating areas they hadn't been to in along time. etc...… (altro)
