Genealogical Standards of Evidence: A Guide for… di Brenda Dougall Merriman

This wonderful little book should be required reading for everyone starting their family history. It will save so much time and frustration! Merriman's explanations of how to evaluate evidence are extremely clear and easy to understand, and illustrated with lots of actual examples from government records, church registers, newspapers and many other sources. Also valuable are the chapter on educational resources and the handy checklist of genealogical sources. If you want your research to be accurate and dependable for future generations, buy this book and keep it handy while you gather your family information and write your own book for posterity.… (altro)

Genealogy in Ontario : searching the records di Brenda Dougall Merriman

Anyone researching ancestors in Ontario, Canada should have a copy of this book in their collection. It gives an excellent overview of the different types of records and how to find them in Ontario. The appendices give contact information on repositories. Each chapter has references and suggested reading for the topic.
