Mildred Plew Meigs (1892–1944)

This book is a lullaby that tells about a moon man that fishes the sea for treasures. The authors style of the book is rhyming and repetition. Some of the lines appear in the book repeatedly. This helps children because it allows them to catch on faster and they know what is coming with repetition. I believe the authors use of language in this book fits the overall message, which is like a lullaby for children.

This book had me a bit confused and I had to re-read it a couple of times. Was not one of my favorites but it did have a lot of rhyming words.

This picture book about the moon uses a great amount of symbolism. This book has a very magical quality. It has beautiful, detailed illustrations and contains many rhyming words and repetitive phrases.
