A glamorous and alluring memoir of a fascinating and inspiring woman.

If you find the world of psychics as interesting as I do and like to read memoir's then you will enjoy reading Cosmic Conspiracy. McLaine was not always aware of her gift, in fact she didn't begin to use it until 1966 while almost at the age of 30. At that time she was a newly divorced mother, working a full-time job at 20th Century Fox. McLaine explains how before that time, she had no interest in becoming a psychic or clairvoyant and makes a point to say that in the 1960's it was a practice that was very unacceptable and considered weird and strange. The first day patty did read was considered on her part a game, when a friend offered to sit in for the reading. Pattie McLaine worked at 20th Century Fox from 1965 until 1968 as a secretary in West Los Angeles, after she divorced from her first husband. First assigned to the script department, where she typed mimeograph sheets for teleplays and screenplays for a couple weeks. Pattie was soon given a real assignment, typing scripts for Claude Traverse the Associate Producer of The Legend of Jesse James. When the first episode of that television series aired, it was a mix of excitement and surrealism for Pattie as she sat on her sofa and watched with her children. Pattie worked on that lot for awhile where she also helped out with public relations on a sound stage and occasionally got to dress up and mingle for promotional parties and events. From taking notes for Barbara Stanwyck to riding in the elevator with Paul Newman, McLaine met and mingled with hundreds of movie stars and celebrities while she worked for 20th Century Fox. Pattie even sat on a park bench next to Mr Paul Newman and his kids during a baseball game. Pattie continued to mingle with the acting crowd, attending galas, parties and meeting more and more celebrities, many whom she still remains close friends with. In 1968 Pattie left her full-time job to be a full-time house wife and in the process she became a full-time psychic, who was soon making more than she had been earning at the studio. At first when she started reading, Pattie read for free and it was for close friends and family members. Later she started doing readings at work on her breaks, during lunch and after work for her co-workers. On the weekends she picked up regular clients that included actors, directors, writers, producers and even those in makeup and costume design. Cosmic Conspiracy is more than a memoir it is filled with interesting tidbits of the lives of many actors she knew personally and those she read for throughout the years. McLaine talks about many of those predictions made for the rich and famous and how and when they came to pass. You can learn about all the men that passed through Pattie's life, her children and her life traumas. Cosmic Conspiracy cannot possibly be read in one day, it is 408 hot pages, of the fascinating life of Patricia McLaine. A life that at her current age of 75 continues to shine and sparkle, as Pattie is still a practicing psychic, has a talk show on Blog Talk Radio: Exploring the Paranormal with Pattie, just published her third novel and has a list of books in the works. Let's not forget Pattie is computer savvy and amongst it all Pattie is truly inspirational.… (altro)

A pure delightful and amusing mix of spiritual enlightenment.

The Recycling of Rosalie is an interweaving of love, hope, faith and spirituality that takes place on earth and in the after life. Rosalie the main character dies in a very comical way although I won't spoil the book for others by saying how. Rosalie at first has no clue she is dead and only remembers that last thing she was doing before she died. When a priest named Father Timothy sent to guide her breaks the bad news Rosalie is happy as a clam. Rosalie is a non-practicing Jewish girl and quite the talker, her positive get it done attitude being what got her killed to begin with, helps her quickly adjust to the after-life. She soon finds out she has everything she has ever dreamed of plus much more. Part of the much more includes her soul-mate a hottie named Manuel who she quickly finds attractive and doesn't waste any time in getting to know. Manuel has been waiting for Rosalie in this paradise and she soon finds out she has a connection with him for eternity, leaving her to forget her marriage and husband David left behind. Father Timothy begins to show Rosalie what David's life has been like since her death, but she is not to concerned. However this changes later when Rosalie quickly learns she is not on earth time any more and David has moved on, this leaves Rosalie emotionally distraught. I love the character of Rosalie, she has the personality of a spunky lady who kept me laughing throughout this whole book. Father Timothy a more reserved soul tends to loosen up as he is just as thrilled by Rosalie's energy, even if she does have a slip of the tongue every so often, causing a disruption of his energy field. You feel so much joy for Rosalie at times and also sadness when she and Manuel must make some choices for the sake of family members left behind on the earth plane. A very unique fictional portrayal of what could happen in a life after death situation, McLaine kept me entertained from beginning to end, including the most adorable ending of any book I have ever read.… (altro)
