Checked this book out from the library on a complete whim, and I'm SO GLAD I did!! I feel head over heels for Mason and Jade, and this story really drew me in. Stayed up way past bedtime a couple of nights, one-more-chapter'ing myself until my eyes were too heavy to keep open. The dialogue is fun and flirty, and I got a lump in my throat a time or two.

This is definitely a sweet romance, with descriptions of their sexual exploits limited to simple phrases like "her ragged breathing mingled with his until they were both sweaty and sated and limp with release" - so not overtly erotic or descriptive. The focus is on the development of the relationship, not on sex, and there's some good growth and development and changing of attitudes there. I also loved the small town variety of supporting characters, especially Weezy.

Can't wait to read the next books by this author about Jade's witchy girlfriends, Annie and Courtney. Hopefully some of the unresolved over-arching plot points will be resolved in one of their stories.

This was such a fun read!!

Alexandra sculpts the perfect statue of a Greek god, but he comes to life just before she presents him at the Ladies' club. Darius the Greek playboy god was cursed (was it by Hera? can't remember) and he could only survive by taking over the perfect statue/replica of himself. Alex was sculpted him to raise money for the orphanage where she grew up, now she had to find a way to break the curse -- by making the statue imperfect-- and raise the money in time.

What’s a Greek god to do when he’s frozen inside a statue? He needs a sculptress to smooth out the imperfections if he wants to regain his humanoid form. For Darius, god of gems, he’s cursed to live out his life in stone unless he finds true love. With his playboy attitude, there is little chance of that happening until Alexandra comes along.

An artist and manager of an orphanage, she doesn’t understand why the statue she needs for a charity auction keeps disappearing. And who is that strangely garbed man that bears an uncanny resemblance to said statue? Might he feel as sensual in the flesh as he does in stone? When she and the children in her care begin to melt Darius’s heart, he sees there’s more to life than feasting and womanizing. Maybe he really can make a difference.

This humorous fantasy romance is just what you need for the perfect beach read.
