This is the most haphazard collection of hockey nostalgia I have ever come across. It feels as though Mr MacFarlane cobbled together a bunch of stuff he had lying around which had not been be included in any of his other publications. While there is plenty here to interest hockey aficionados, the structure of the book makes it difficult to enjoy as we jump from topic to topic without any rhyme or reason; tales of tragic career ending injuries are rapidly followed by happy reminiscences of Olympic glory. This is a book written more for hockey fans than for fans of literary merit, irritatingly.

I received this book free through Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

Cheesy pictures sort of take away from this cute story. My daughter was bored to tears, but my son listened politely. Overall, I thought the story was okay. I guess hockey just isn't our thing.

Kids enjoyed this book. We play at an ice rink in the off season, and sometimes stop to watch the zamboni, and we have several matchbox zambonies in our collection, so they can make a connection. It is unusual in that it is a different kind of truck than is usually depicted in children's books.

This is a story about Peter Puck's friend, Tony Zamboni,, who gets tired of his job and decides to go out into the world to have and adventure. They defeat al the tricks the two other drives try to get them out of the race, and in the end, win the race, Tony is happy that his friend Peter helped him and realizes that his place in life is in the ice arena. He goes bak with Peter to continue his work on the ice.
It is a fun story, especially for kids who enjoy hockey and /or are interested in Zambonis.
