This is book #2 in the series but there is enough background information for someone to understand what is going on to enjoy the book without having read book one first but book one is good!
Here our guy of the story, John, is a bit lazy and unmotivated. He still mourns the loss of his brother and occasionally thinks he sees him out of the corner of his eye in his house. He gets a break finally and gets a job that fits him and one he likes. He even makes a friend. A hot girl starts paying attention to him.
But then things start getting weird. He doesn't know then just how weird things are going to get!… (altro)

The Thirst

This had a different feel to a blood sucker than a vampire. It was a creature, an old powerful one, that now wanted to change the rules. Somehow, the town folks and the executioner would feel it was time, they felt it and dreaded it but met at the spot. Then, three names would mark themselves on the stone. Those three people would have to be sacrificed and then the creature would go away again for another long spell. This time, he change the rules!
This was an enjoyable story so far but I really hate cliffhangers or stories that just quit. That's what this story does. It just stops so you have to wait for the next book to finish. It would have been a 4 star if it had continued on.… (altro)

I went back and forth on this one to give it a 4 or 5 star rating. Neither is bad. The book is more a teen/young adult book and suspenseful enough to enjoy it even though most will figure out who the monster is near the end. I think that may be intentional because it adds a new layer to the story. Because of little things like that I totally went with the 5 star rating.
Great plot, loved the characters, and this would make a great series of books or TV! It doesn't have sex too which is a plus!
