These damn rockstars! lol I cannot quit them
The first 2/3's of this book were a little uneven for me HOWEVER it was all worth it for the final third! IMO, Hiding in the Smoke was a more solid book and the progression of Sofia & Bren's relationship felt natural. Lola and Karl's relationship, however, wasn't as strong. BUT, I think it all makes sense once the big surprise gets dropped later in the book turns out Karl has never had p in v sex before although he has done other things!
I'm sticking with Industrial November - and the last few chapters of this book has me pumped for the next!… (altro)

Like the author notes, this is a darker romance than the others in the series. It's not a dark romance but the themes and the central relationship are heavy. The MCs have been in a (mostly secret) toxic relationship cycle of hate fuck, tender fuck, hate fuck for over a decade. So although they have an extended history, they know so little of one another due to their inability to connect beyond fucking and fighting.
